How do I know my pet has a skin condition?

Scratching, pulling at their fur or and constant licking are typical signs your pet is uncomfortable and experiencing dermatological issues. To know for sure, examine their skin and you may find the following:

• Red spots
• Moist dermatitis (hot spots) in areas that are wet
• Shedding
• Awkward sitting positions or movements to avoid the irritated spot
• Bumps, sores and blisters
• Rashes
• Excessive licking
• Scaly skin

How do I prevent my pet from developing skin conditions?

When you bathe and brush your pet’s fur often, you expose underlying medical conditions from an early stage. Colloidal oatmeal shampoo soothes and moisturizes aggravated skin before they become uncomfortable for your pet. After your pet’s baths, or whenever they’re wet, make sure to dry them off completely. They can develop hot spots or yeast infections from areas that are left damp. It also helps to stay aware of your environment.
